The Beauty Within

The Beauty Within

Once upon a time, in a picturesque land, there were three wealthy and stunning women enjoying a delightful picnic by the riverside. The sun's warmth caressed their skin, and the cool, clean waters of the river refreshed their souls. As they washed their hands and feet in the river, they caught a glimpse of their reflections and couldn't help but admire their own beauty.

The first woman exclaimed, "Oh, look how beautiful my hands are!" The second woman chimed in, "Nonsense! My hands are even more exquisite than yours." The third woman confidently claimed, "Both of your hands are fine, but my hands are the most beautiful of all."

The Beauty Within

Soon, an argument erupted among the three ladies, each vying to prove that her hands were the prettiest. As their debate continued, an old woman passed by, leaning on her walking stick, looking tired, and bearing signs of hunger.

In a moment of inspiration, one of the wealthy ladies suggested that they ask the old woman to decide whose hands were the most beautiful. They called her over, and when she approached, they eagerly displayed their hands, awaiting her verdict.

The old woman replied, "I am very hungry and thirsty. Please give me something to eat and drink, and only then will I be able to answer your question." Despite her weariness, she couldn't pass judgment in her current state.

Unbelievably, all three rich women refused to offer her any food or water and instead urged her to leave them be. At a distance, a kind-hearted and poor woman observed the situation while working in her field. Witnessing the old woman's plight, she rushed to her aid.

The benevolent woman brought the elderly lady to where she was working and offered her half of her meager lunch. She quenched the old woman's thirst with her own water and provided her with a comforting shade under a nearby tree.

After the old woman had rested and regained her strength, she took the poor woman to the wealthy ladies and declared, "You asked me to judge whose hands were the most beautiful, and I have found the answer." She held the hands of the kind-hearted woman and continued, "These hands are the epitome of beauty."

The three wealthy ladies burst into laughter, mocking the old woman's choice. "How could you say her hands are beautiful?" they scorned. "Look how rough and hard her hands are!"

Unperturbed, the old lady responded with wisdom, "The true beauty of hands lies not in their softness or appearance but in the good deeds they perform and the service they offer to those in need. Beauty is not about appearance, but about the heart, mind, and soul."

She continued, "The hands of this woman, though rough and hard, are much more beautiful than yours because they have served the needy and performed good deeds."

In that moment, the three wealthy ladies fell silent, realizing the depth of the old woman's wisdom. They learned that true beauty comes from the heart and the goodness of one's deeds, not from external appearances.

As the old woman walked away, the rich ladies were left contemplating her profound lesson. They understood that outer beauty is fleeting and superficial, while inner beauty endures and captivates the heart.

Conclusion:

From that day on, the three women embraced a newfound perspective on beauty and sought to cultivate inner virtues that radiated genuine beauty in their hearts and souls. And so, their hearts were forever enriched by the timeless wisdom of the old woman by the riverside.
